Overview

Old mine cut moissanite is captured by the four prong setting. The old mine Emerald is cut with a series of parallel lines, the long edges and corners rounded. This is considered Old Mine Emerald, as opposed to the modern cuts that have straighter lines & sharply angled corners. The setting claws the corner of this stone allowing all of the facets to display from the top & sides while firmly holding the gem securely above the ring shank.

The band rises to meet the prongs with a slight taper, narrowing as it approaches the head of the ring. This gradual reduction in width draws the eye upward toward the center stone, while the plain surface of the band keeps the overall design understated. The setting itself stays minimal, allowing the geometric character of the old mine emerald cut to remain the defining feature of the ring.
